Supply Chains - Plan For An Unpredictable Future

When it comes to Supply Chains and planning for the future in 2022, organizations are facing numerous challenges. For example, the ability of a supply chain to continue to delivery even when under stress, or the ongoing problem of warehouse availability, is becoming increasingly important. There are both internal and external elements to supply chain resilience. Examples of internal factors include financial health of an organization, where it’s located in the world, and its different levels of risk and control standards. External factors include events like war, the pandemic and third-party actions, such as cyber attacks expose these internal vulnerabilities.

Working on a strategic plan for you company’s growth moving forward is imperative. We will continue to deal with supply chain issues for raw materials, warehousing and a slow down in consumer purchasing. These realties will demand more complex and experience logistics support moving forward.

With the increased need of warehousing due to the slow down in consumer spending, this the time to review your strategy on how you go to the market and how you can support the needs of the future.  We all hope consumer spending will increase and level off to remove the “Bullwhip” effect of what is going on now.

When Supply Chains are not resilient and failure occurs, clients generally don’t care if a supplier caused delays. If you are unable to deliver your obligations to a customer, or you don’t handle a customer’s data in the appropriate way due to a supplier issue, your organization will be held accountable.
